Transition to Audio File Requests

Effective immediately, we are updating our procedure for accessing court records. Please note that we will no longer accept requests for written transcripts. Instead, parties interested in obtaining records will now be able to request audio files of court proceedings. This change allows users to utilize the transcriptionist of their choosing to convert these audio files into written transcripts.

For instructions on how to request audio files, and for more information on this new process, please visit our website Nunavut Courts - Transcript Requests

We appreciate your cooperation as we transition to this new model, aimed at providing more flexible and accessible services.

In our ongoing effort to enhance access to court records, we are shifting from providing written transcripts to offering audio files of court proceedings. Effective immediately, parties needing records should submit a completed Request Form to the NUCJ Registry to request audio files.

Please ensure that you provide all required information on the Request Form. This form must be accompanied by the appropriate fee, which covers the production of the audio file. For details on the new process, current fees, or any additional information, please contact the Registry directly at:

All requests are subject to review under the Access to Court Record Policy to ensure legal compliance for access. We encourage parties to use these audio files with a transcriptionist of their choice to meet their specific transcript needs.
