If you receive a letter or notice (a summons) telling you that you have been selected for jury duty, you must follow the instructions carefully.
- The summons will tell you when and where to go.
- If you cannot attend (for example, because of health, travel, or family reasons), you must contact the Sheriff’s Office right away to explain and ask to be excused.
- If you ignore your summons and do not attend, you could face penalties.
